Microsoft AI released MAI Image 2.7 in preview on October 27. It's an editing model: restyle or relight a whole scene, change text and symbols so they still sit naturally in the image, restore or enhance existing assets, or move a product into a new setting.
Microsoft says it debuted at No. 3 on the Arena Edit leaderboard and No. 2 on Artificial Analysis's image editing leaderboard, improves on 2.6 across all 10 use cases and all 7 editing actions Artificial Analysis evaluates, and leads the next-best model by 24 Elo in scene and style.
The text-to-image side moved too. Microsoft's MAI Image 2.6 post says 2.6 and 2.6 Flash are generally available in Microsoft Foundry, with 2.6 ranked second on Arena's text-to-image board.
